Saina Disappoints But Sindhu & Srikanth Keeps Hopes Aive
She registered a victory by 19-21, 21-15, 21-17. Though she lost the first set, she has shown her best in the next two sets and has proved to be the best when compared with the opponent. But finally when Saina Nehwal shocked everyone; P V Sindhu and Srikanth kept badminton medal hopes alive. Saina Nehwal crashed out of the Rio Games after suffering a straight-games’ defeat to lower-ranked Maria Ulitina of Ukraine in her second Group G match. It was really disappointing to see her play in a completely disappointing manner. She was seen suffering all through the match and it did not go well with all.
Srikanth, the lone Indian in the men’s singles, reached the knock-out rounds from Group H after defeating Sweden’s Henri Hurskainen 21-6, 21-18 in his second match. He played confidently and has shown a clear domination from the beginning. Sindhu progressed from Group M, rallying splendidly to get the better of Michelle Li of Canada 19-21, 21-15 21-17. She is going to make our hopes come true if everything goes really very well. Kidambi Srikanth and P V Sindhu provided some cheer in the Indian camp by making it to the pre-quarter-finals. Hopefully, they should do some miracles.
