Rekka Complete Review From Critics:
Vijay Sethupathi is seen as Shiva in the film and he is the Town’s innocent braveheart given to rescuing girls forced into marriages. He leads his life like that and in One such encounter of his earns him the wrath of the badie, Harish Uthaman (David in the film). How does Vijay Sethupathi get out of tussle? Does he get out of it? This is the concept of the film and we usually see it in several films but what execution was found here makes the film different from the rest.
As templated as it might sound, the film is undoubtedly fabricated square by piece with attempted and tried blocks. Sentiment bit between Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon is built over a base like the one in Gilli. Kabir Dulhan Singh plays another baddie in the film, and competition between the two baddies clear path for another subplot. The film likewise takes after a flashback part went for clarifying the thought process behind Sethupathi’s dedication to saving sweethearts from risk. Vijay Sethupathi, of course, doesn’t neglect to awe.
Given the job needing to be done of playing mass activity, a subject he once in a while touches, by one means or another he has completed it with a cautious sensibility that could be appreciated. The film’s director has taken consideration to add sensibility to the plot which adds to the engagement. Melodies by D.Imman has functioned admirably yet could have been utilized unpretentiously. A flashback part including Vijay Sethupathi in his youth days add to the comic drama figure and was agreeable. The script could undoubtedly be called as templated. Despite the fact that the chief has taken consideration to include sensible feelings and conceivable arrangements, one would feel that it has a place with an alternate time, some place in the later past.
Furthermore, there appeared to be excessively numerous subplots included, which takes an ideal opportunity to interface, prompting a slight disarray and loss of engagement. Particularly in an arrangement near the peak, with one baddie battling the other alongside Vijay Sethupathi in the center. The entire thing was ok ok types and on a whole, the film fails to impress.,
- Vijay Sethupathi
